Who is the best candidate for plastic surgery?
The best candidate for plastic surgery is someone with a positive body image and realistic expectations about their outcome, realizing that every body type is different and the healing process affects everyone differently. Dr. Humphreys, Dr. Whidden, Dr. Byers, and Dr. Lafreniere will discuss all of these issues and concerns with you in a consultation and discuss all your health issues before booking a date for surgery.
How long is the wait to book a consultation and surgical date?
Due to the high demand for our Doctors, our consultation and surgical days can fill up quickly. We suggest you book your consultation 3-4 months before your desired surgical date. When determining your surgical date, choose when to take up to two weeks off of work and rigorous activity to allow for healing.
Does Insurance or Alberta Health Care cover surgery?
Generally, most plastic surgery is not covered by Health Care or private insurance plans. However, certain procedures such as select breast reductions and reconstructive surgeries may be covered if they meet Alberta Health’s eligibility criteria.
Where is surgery performed?
Dr. Humphreys, Dr. Whidden, Dr. Byers, and Dr. Lafreniere perform plastic surgeries in our fully accredited private surgical suite, Macleod Trail Surgical Centre.
What type of financing options do you offer?
Several companies provide financing for elective surgical procedures. The staff and Surgeon at Macleod Trail Plastic Surgery are not involved in the contract between clients and their chosen finance company. However, you are welcome to use any company you'd like to finance your procedure.
Is there a cost for a consultation?
Alberta Health Care will cover the consultation cost with Dr. Humphreys, Dr. Whidden, Dr. Byers, and Dr. Lafreniere for procedures covered by Alberta Health Care. For cosmetic consultations, all of our Surgeons charge a non-refundable $210.00 fee, payable at the time of booking.
What do the individual cosmetic surgeries cost?
After your initial consultation with Dr. Humphreys, Dr. Whidden, Dr. Byers, or Dr. Lafreniere, you will receive a personalized quote based on your individual needs. If you are looking for a general estimate prior to your consultation, you may contact the Medical Office Assistant for your chosen surgeon, as fees can vary between providers.
